Ashlee Evans-Smith: Bec Rawlings Is Raunchy, And A Bad Representation Of MMA

Coming off of two losses, Ashlee Evans-Smith doesn't seem too concerned about her opponent Bec Rawlings coming up at UFC 223.

When speaking to Fightful.com's James Lynch, Evans-Smith opened up about the planned fight, and says that she didn't really think Rawlings would step up and take it.

"Without sounding cocky, I'm shocked that she took the fight against me. She's coming off of three losses, I'm the bigger, stronger girl," Ashlee told Lynch

Beyond being chocked that Rawlings accepted the bout, Ashlee Evans-Smith went as far as to say she was taking this fight personally. She singled out Rawlings as a poor influence in the sport, and didn't mince words.

"I just don't like the girl that much at all. She's a really bad depiction and role model for women's MMA. She's raunchy to put it lightly. She uses sexuality way too much. I've posted a few risque pictures, but she overdoes it. It's shocking to me, she has children, too. My nickname is 'rebel girl,' and I'd love to cuss all the time and post pictures that are a bit risque, but I don't because there are boys and girls that look up to us. I take that into consideration and I don't think so at all. I think she's given MMA a bad name in general," said Evans-Smith."She's kind of a shit talker, and a lot of the time she can't back it up, which is embarrassing to me. Sometimes I wanna talk trash, but then I'm like 'ooh, it's MMA, anything can happen.' I'm not gonna talk trash in this fight and get spinning heel kicked and look like an (idiot)"

Evans-Smith said she'll be training with former UFC Champion Carla Esparza for the fight, as Esparza has defeated Rawlings in the past. Evans-Smith and Esparza were actually both in Las Vegas during the interview to take in the benefits of the UFC's Performance Institute.

In the full interview, Ashlee Evans-Smith (5-3) discusses her upcoming fight against Bec Rawlings (7-7) at UFC 223 on Apr. 7. Ashlee also talks about moving down to 125lbs for this fight, her training camp and the success of her Youtube channel.
