Report: Alex Caceres Faces Artem Lobov At UFC 223
A featherweight division affair could be coming to UFC and it was first reported by The Mac Life as Alex Caceres could may be fighting Artem Lobov.
Caceres (13-11-0-1NC) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that last win coming over Rolando Dy at UFC Fight Night Singapore. Caceres had competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 12, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Michael Johnson. Caceres has spent a total of six-plus years competing in the UFC, earning a record of 8-9-0-1NC in the promotion.
Lobov (13-14-1-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Cub Swanson and Andre Fili. Lobov is returning to a UFC pay-per-view card for the first time in almost two years, with the last such card he competed on being UFC 202. Lobov made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 22, but suffered a decision loss to Ryan Hall in the final fight of the reality show.
The booking of Lobov, a teammate of Conor McGregor, has led to speculation that the UFC Lightweight Champion will be in the building for the show.
UFC 223 takes place on Saturday, April 7 from the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
