Jon Jones Passes Polygraph Test, Not Asked To Take One By UFC Or USADA
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been sitting on the sidelines since being notified of a second potential drug test failure by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Jones has now subjected himself to a polygraph test, despite not being asked to do so by USADA or the UFC.
The former light heavyweight champion has passed the polygraph test according to MMA Fighting, which was administered by PGP Polygraph & Interviewing Service in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Despite the positive results of the polygraph test, it may have no bearing on whatever suspension is handed to Jones by USADA and the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). The CSAC was overseeing UFC 214 and will give Jones a separate punishment from that of USADA.
USADA could suspend the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion four four years, since this is the fighter’s second drug test failure.
Outside of the pending punishments from the CSAC and USADA, punishments already handed down to Jones include being stripped of the UFC Light Heavyweight Title and the UFC 214 win over Daniel Cormier has been overturned to a no contest.
While the CSAC is expected to hand Jones a punishment when they meet next month, no time frame has been given for when USADA can issue their punishment.
