Report: Tim Williams Faces Oskar Piechota At UFC Fight Night Austin
A middleweight division bout could be added to UFC Fight Night Austin per MMA Fighting as Tim Williams may battle Oskar Piechota.
Williams (15-3-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Williams had already defeated three UFC veterans before signing with the promotion earlier this year, with those vets being Nah-Shon Burrell, Jay Silva and Ron Stallings. Williams competed on both the UFC Ultimate Fighter 17 and the UFC Ultimate Fighter 19, never making it any further than the quarterfinals of the reality show.
Piechota (10-0-1) has already competed once under the UFC banner, defeating Jonathan Wilson by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Gdansk. Piechota has only seen one of his professional MMA fights go the distance and that was the aforementioned bout in the fighter’s UFC debut. Piechota also fought once in the Cage Warriors promotion, defeating Jason Radcliffe by TKO at CWFC 85.
UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on Sunday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
