Lauren Murphy Steps In At UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale

Sijara Eubanks was deemed medically unable to compete at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale and was replaced in the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title bout by Roxanne Modafferi, leaving Barb Honchak without an opponent.

That is no longer the case because Lauren Murphy has agreed to step up on a days’ notice to fight Honchak at the event.

Honchak (10-2-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak. Honchak did compete on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, making it to the semi-finals before losing to Nicco Montano. Honchak is also a former Invicta FC Flyweight Champion, defeating Vanessa Porto to win the gold at Invicta FC 5.

Murphy (9-3-0) has won just one of four fights under the UFC banner and that lone win came over Kelly Faszholz at UFC Fight Night 83. Murphy also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, losing in the opening round to Nicco Montano. Murphy is a former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion, defeating Miriam Nakamoto to win the belt at Invicta FC 7.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale takes place tonight from The Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada with Nicco Montano and Roxanne Modafferi headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
