Chad Gable Training With His Namesake Following Number One Contendership Win

Chad Gable's first stop following he and Shelton Benjamin's win this past Tuesday on Smackdown? Training with the person he's named after.

Gable, real name Chas Betts, recently posted a picture of him training in Iowa City with Dan Gable, who stopped by to coach.

Dan Gable is best remembered for his gold medal victory at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany. He also was head coach of the University of Iowa for decades. Betts is an accomplished amateur wrestler who made it to the 2012 Olympics in London where he qualified, but lost in the following round.

Of course, Gable isn't just training with his namesake. He's also been training with his newfound tag team partner, Shelton Benjamin.

Benjamin and Gable became number one contenders to the Smackdown tag team titles this past Tuesday on Smackdown Live, where they beat The Ascension,  The Hype Bros. and Breezango to win the opportunity. It isn't currently known when they'll get the shot.
