Khabib Nurmagomedov Calls Out Conor McGregor For UFC 219

Khabib Nurmagomedov hasn’t competed since defeating Michael Johnson at UFC 205, but now he has an opponent and date in mind for that Octagon return.

The undefeated lightweight wants a shot at UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and he would like that fight to happen this December at UFC 219.

Nurmagomedov made the request of McGregor on Instagram:

McGregor has expressed an interest in fighting Nurmagomedov in Russia, but UFC 219 is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was set to take on Tony Ferguson for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship earlier this year, but everything from weight issues, hospitalizations, ramadan, injuries and other hurdles have prevented the bout from happening. Instead, Kevin Lee was given the shot against Ferguson for the interim title.

Whomever McGregor does face in his return to the UFC after “The Money Fight,” it is going to be his first Octagon appearance since UFC 205.
