Floyd Mayweather Sr. Threatens To Sue Conor McGregor
Floyd Mayweather Sr. is that father of Floyd Mayweather, who steps into the boxing ring on August 26 to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
The elder Mayweather is threatening to sue the MMA fighter if he tries anything dirty against his son in the ring.
“It’s gonna stop right there,” Mayweather Sr. said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “And guess what? Then we’re gonna throw a big suit at him. There’s enough people around here suing everybody for nothing, and this is something that you can be screwed for.”
McGregor has not specifically threatened to use dirty tactics against Mayweather, but his experience in combat sports lies exclusively in mixed martial arts.
Despite the threatening of a lawsuit, the senior Mayweather is a firm believer that his son is far superior in the ring when compared to McGregor.
“Like I said many times before, Floyd is better. But I’m saying here now, he’s training good enough for a guy like this,” says Mayweather Sr.
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
