Sergio Moraes Signs New Deal With UFC
Sergio Moraes has had a truly successfully run during his years in the UFC, winning six of the eight fights he competed at in the promotion.
The Brazilian fighter recently met with the UFC to get himself a new contract with the promotion and walked away happy in the end.
"I’m happy and motivated,” Moraes said to MMA Fighting. "The company accepted our demands, they understood that I always accepted every fight and never picked opponents. My opponents kept changing and I was always fighting. There was a raise, yes. Actually, they agreed as soon as we said it, and it was great. Amazing"
Up next for Moraes is a battle with top 15 ranked Kamaru Usman, the two were supposed to clash awhile back at UFC 198 until Usman suffered an injury that knocked him out of the encounter.
Moraes hopes that lightning doesn’t strike twice and he gets his opportunity to prove himself against Usman.
"I hope it doesn’t happen again. I hope not. Enough of it,” Moraes said. "But that’s it, we have to always be ready for it. I’m a jiu-jitsu fighter and used to face five opponents in one day to become champion, so I always believe that being ready and with a good mind, no one can stop me."
