Joe Rogan Claims Dana White May Have CTE

UFC President Dana White and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan have been working together for just about two decades now.

During a recent edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, the color commentator said the UFC President may have CTE from his boxing days.

“Dana White is a notorious gambler but he wins millions of dollars sometimes. I think he said he’s lost as much as $1 million and he’s won as much as $7 million in a night. [He does it for] thrills. Also, people who have been hit in the head a lot – Dana’s been hit in the head a lot. Notoriously impulsive, notoriously susceptible to addiction, whether it’s gambling addiction, alcohol addiction, it’s a big part of CTE. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. That’s brain damage, from getting hit in the head. He did a lot of boxing when he was young, had his dome rattled,” says Rogan.

There is a long history between brain injuries and boxing, which has plagued the sport for a long time now.

Rogan would even admit, despite his longtime run in combat sports, that people aren’t supposed to experience that type of trauma.

“You’re not supposed to get punched in the head ever,” said Rogan. “You’re definitely not supposed to get punched in the head multiple times a day for years.”

Joe Rogan is going to be seen next behind the booth at UFC 214, which takes place on Saturday, July 29.
