Michael Chandler Talks About Fan Reaction To Stool Incident
Michael Chandler not only lost the Bellator MMA Lightweight Title to Brent Primus at Bellator 180, but he was involved in another embarrassing incident as well.
The fighter was being evaluated by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) and when he went to sit down, the fighter fell flat on his behind because somebody pulled his stool away.
Since the situation happened, the former champion has been on the receiving end of some talking from the fans.
“People are ruthless,” Chandler said on The MMA Hour. “You guys are frickin' ruthless. The human race is ruthless, okay?”
Chandler was thought to have suffered a broken ankle against Primus, but that wasn’t the case and he is going to be returning to action sooner than originally thought.
While some found the whole stool incident to be quite humorous, the former champion looks at things from a different perspective.
“It’s not [funny], but what are you going to do?” Chandler asked. “People love to make fun of people.”
Despite the fact that the former champion doesn’t have a broken ankle, there is still no official word on when the lightweight will again step into the Bellator MMA cage. However, when he does make that return, the new lightweight champion promised him an immediate title rematch.
