Drew McIntyre: I Need To Stop Telling Damian Priest When To Cash In, He Might Listen

Drew McIntyre thinks he should stop telling Damian Priest to cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase.

Drew McIntyre is keeping one eye on Damian Priest and the Money In The Bank briefcase.

Throughout his run as Mr Money In The Bank, Damian Priest has made several attempts to cash in the case for a world title opportunity. One such chance was during a World Heavyweight Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins. However, McIntyre would foil those plans with a Claymore, taking Priest out of the equation that night.

While speaking to Evan Mack in a recent interview, McIntyre reflected on telling Priest he should have waited till after the match to cash in, wondering if he should stop encouraging Priest to cash in the case.

“Yeah, he’s on my mind. I need to stop giving him the answers because he may actually listen, unlike Seth. I keep giving him the answers to the test and he keeps failing. With Priest in the last match, he decided to cash in halfway through me and Seth, and I was so angry because I hit a Claymore on the floor, which hurts me just as much as it hurts my opponent. It ended up costing me the match and after I was like, ‘Why would you cash in during the match? Why didn’t you do it after the match when I was at my weakest and ready for the taking?’ I need to stop telling this guy, ‘This is when you should cash in,’ in case he goes, ‘You know what, Drew is right. Unlike Seth Rollins, I’ll take his advice.’ I’ll keep one eye on Priest.”

With an appearance from CM Punk scheduled for Monday’s edition of RAW, McIntyre cut a promo on Punk to the song, Cry Me A River on March 21st. You can read more about that here.
