Cris Cyborg vs. Ronda Rousey in the UFC seems like a longshot at this point, but the 145-pound legend Cris "Cyborg" Justino says it could happen elsewhere.
A video featuring the former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion doing some light pro wrestling training with former TNA talent and WWE Tough Enough competitor Gabi (also known as Raquel) released on Sunday evening. By the looks of it, Cyborg took well to the training — well enough to challenge her longtime rival Rousey in the squared circle.
Fightful.com reached out to Cyborg, who walked away from the session with optimism.
"I wouldn't even count this as a first practice," Cyborg said with a laugh. "I never tried before and (Raquel) showed me a couple things. I need (a) coach, but I enjoy wrestling."
Cyborg would also tell Fightful that pro wrestling is something she looks to participate in more often.
Rousey is no stranger to professional wrestling herself. She's frequented events from WWE, PWG and AIW, and famously appeared at WrestleMania 31, tossing Triple H overhead. Fellow "Four Horsewomen" member Shayna Baszler actually competes on the independent circuit, while another in Marina Shafir, is engaged to NXT star Roderick Strong.
Cyborg last competed in September, where she dominated Lina Lansberg at 140 pounds. Rousey last fought in a quick TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December, and has largely stayed out of the public spotlight since.
