WWE NXT (1/16/2024) Results: Oba Femi Speaks, 20-Woman Battle Royal, Dusty Rhodes Classic Continues

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, WWE hosted a new episode of NXT on the USA Network.
The show was headlined by a 20-woman Battle Royal, leading to a #1 Contender’s Fatal Four Way to determine the contender for NXT Women’s Championship. The full results for the show are listed below.

- Booker T. Huffman & Vic Joseph welcomed the audience to the broadcast before the opening contest.
- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament – First Round Match: Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams. def. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade.
- Fallon Henley was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid, where Henley said that she was looking to finally get a shot at the NXT Women’s Title.
- There was a video package recapping Dragon Lee’s NXT North American Championship reign before he was dethroned by Oba Femi.
- Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez spoke about how they would win the Battle Royal tonight, but Tatum Paxley appeared from a room and told them that she would not let anyone else win.
- The newly crowned NXT North American Champion Oba Femi came to the ring to cut a promo. Femi said that he would crush anyone who goes on his way to dust, but he was interrupted by Dragon Lee. Lee put over Femi for skyrocketing into the top of NXT as quickly as he has and told him to keep the tradition of open challenges before challenging Lee to a match tonight. After Femi rejected the challenge, Lee challenged Femi to a rematch at Vengeance Day. Femi told him he would consider it.
- Eddie Thorpe & Trey Bearhill spoke backstage before they were interrupted by DIJAK. DIJAK & Bearhill had a heated conversation before they agreed to a match.
- Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams celebrated their victory backstage before NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov confronted Williams. Dragunov announced to Williams that he & Williams will finally have their title match at NXT Vengeance Day, the same day as the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final.
- Lyra Valkyria & Tatum Paxley def. Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez.
- Arianna Grace cut a monologue about how she would win the 20-Woman Battle Royal to the women’s roster. The entire roster left the locker room during the monologue.
- Ridge Holland def. Joe Coffey (w/ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang).
- Jacy Jayne, Karmen Petrovic, Thea Hail & more of the women’s roster were backstage talking about helping Chase University. After dismissing everyone, Jacy Jayne called a Performance Center recruit named “Jasmine” and invited her for drinks.
- Kelani Jordan & Brinley Reece trained backstage ahead of their involvement in the 20-Woman Battle Royal. They wanted each other to win in case they lost.
- Baron Corbin was interviewed backstage before Bron Breakker joined in. Breakker said that the “Wolf Dogs” would win the Dusty Classic, but Corbin was bamboozled by the Wolf Dogs name. After Kincaid told Corbin & Breakker that they were both A-Holes, Breakker came up with a different name: The Wild Boars. Corbin buried the name and left the interview.
- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament – First Round Match: LWO (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) (w/ Zelina Vega) def. Chase University (Riley Osbourne & Duke Hudson) (w/ Andre Chase).
- The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Adrianna Rizzo) were backstage ahead of Rizzo making her in-ring debut tonight. Rizzo was extremely nervous, but Stacks & D’Angelo calmed Rizzo down.
- Von Wagner & Mr. Stone were backstage before they were confronted by Noam Dar & Oro Mensah. Despite completely misunderstanding the rules of the Heritage Cup, Wagner told Dar he wanted a shot at the cup.
- DIJAK def. Trey Bearhill.
- Joe Gacy was on the commentary team for the match.
- Gacy attacked DIJAK after the match. As Gacy & DIJAK brawled on the ramp, Lexis King attacked Bearhill from behind before hitting him with the Straight Jacket Neckbreaker.
- JBL met with Josh Briggs backstage, where he said that he was there to help Briggs find the best version of himself.
- There was a video package for the Now Quarter Catch Crew (Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne & Damon Kemp).
- Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes spoke backstage, where they agreed to focus on the NXT Dusty Classic, but Williams said that he would still be going for the NXT Title.
- NXT Women’s Championship – 20-Woman Eliminator Battle Royal: Roxanne Perez, Kiana James, Kelani Jordan & Fallon Henley def. Tatum Paxley, Lola Vice, Elektra Lopez, Gigi Dolin, Arianna Grace, Karmen Petrovic vs. Adriana Rizzo, Izzi Dame, Lash Legend vs. Brinley Reece, Stevie Turner, Thea Hail, Blar Davenport, Jakara Jackson, Jaida Parker & Ren Sinclair.
- Cora Jade was removed from the match due to injury. Jade was replaced by Ren Sinclair (formerly known as Madi Wrenkowski).
- NXT Women’s Championship – #1 Contenders Match: Roxanne Perez def. Kelani Jordan, Fallon Henley & Kiana James (w/ Izzi Dame).
