WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution (1/5/2023).
- After a video package recapping Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s return to WWE and call out to Roman Reigns, the show kicked off with Roman Reigns being interviewed by Kayla Braxton in the parking lot. Reigns laughed off Braxton and left.
- Kevin Patrick & Corey Graves welcomed the audience to the broadcast before kicking off with the opening match.
- WWE United States Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament – Finals: Kevin Owens def. Santos Escobar (w/ Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo).
- WWE United States Champion Logan Paul was on commentary for the opening match.
- Early in the match, LWO (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz del Toro) attacked Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza from behind. The match’s finish came with Kevin Owens hitting a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Escobar before hitting the Stunner for the win.
- After the match, Logan Paul made fun of Owens sweating after the match and said that a Canadian could have the United States Title as unlikely as hell. Owens decked Paul in the jaw and knocked him out.
- Austin Theory & Grayson Waller checked on Logan Paul (who was accompanied by Shawn Daivari) after being attacked by Kevin Owens. Cameron Grimes confronted them before Petey Williams separated them.
- Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) came to the ring to cut a promo welcoming an “All-Mighty New Year”. Lashley said that 2023 was the roughest year of his life, but it was compensated by linking up with the Profits and promising to make 2024 their year. After Lashley officially declared himself for the 2024 Royal Rumble, a video package showed on the screen reading “The End is Near”. Karrion Kross & Scarlett appeared on the ramp before Paul Ellering appeared with them on the ramp, leading to The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) attacking The Street Profits & Lashley. Kross & AOP stood tall on the ramp after the carnage.
- WWE Women’s Championship Match: IYO SKY (c) def. “Michin” Mia Yim.
- Paul Heyman cut a promo on The Rock calling out Roman Reigns, with him saying that The Rock was not invited to join The Bloodline before declaring that the only ways to go viral was either dating Taylor Swift or calling out Roman Reigns. After mentioning multiple names like CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and tonight’s contenders before declaring that anyone that steps up falls to Roman Reigns.
- Damage CTRL (Bayley, Kairi Sane, Asuka & Dakota Kai) celebrated with IYO SKY backstage before Bianca Belair interrupted. Belair said that she would be entering the Women’s Royal Rumble and then proceed to end the IYO SKY’s era. Kai told Bayley to take out Bianca Belair.
- Before his match, Butch revealed his mystery partner, revealing Tyler Bate to bring back a reunion of British Strong Style.
- British Strong Style (Butch & Tyler Bate) def. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson).
- Ashante Adonis joined Nick Aldis in his office and told Aldis that he did not know his spot, but he was hungry and all he wanted was an opportunity. Aldis told Adonis that he did not feel bad for him because he believed him.
- Undisputed WWE Universal Championship – #1 Contenders Match: Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight ended in a No Contest.
- SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was in the crowd for the match.
- The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso & Paul Heyman) came to the ring and attacked Styles, Orton, Knight & even the referee, Charles Robinson, ending the match in a No Contest. As Heyman smiled, Aldis confronted him and told Heyman to congratulate Reigns because he earned himself a Fatal-Four Way for the title at the 2024 Royal Rumble. As Heyman looked in shock, The Bloodline stood tall to end the broadcast.
