Matt Riddle Confirms He Is No Longer With WWE

Matt Riddle released by WWE.

Matt Riddle informed fans that he is no longer with WWE.

Riddle wrote on social media, “Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE. Thank you for the memories and opportunities also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon.”

Riddle last competed on the September 4 episode of WWE Raw, teaming with Drew McIntyre. He was in an active storyline with McIntyre before being off television.

Riddle has been off television after he accused an officer at JFK airport of sexual harassment in an Instagram post that he deleted on September 10. According to reports, Port Authority officers got a call for a disorderly person who was deplaning, and they met him in the terminal. Riddle was reportedly the disorderly person in question. An internal investigation was launched at that time.

Riddle reportedly failed a WWE drug test and went to rehab in December 2022. He was written off television on the December 4 episode of WWE Raw before returning in April 2023.

In the summer of 2020, Riddle was accused of sexually assaulting female independent wrestler Candy Cartwright. Riddle denied the allegation. A lawsuit was filed in October 2020 by Cartwright, but dropped in July 2021.

Riddle signed with WWE in 2018 after a four year run on the independent scene. He was in NXT until 2020 when he joined the main roster. He is a former WWE United States Champion, WWE Raw Tag Team Champion alongside Randy Orton, and NXT Tag Team Champion with Butch (Pete Dunne).
