Results of the 9/12/2023 edition of NXT.

On September 12, 2023, WWE hosted a new episode of NXT on the USA Network.

The show was headlined by Tiffany Stratton defending her NXT Womens Championship against Becky Lynch & with Ilja Dragunov fighting Wes Lee for the right to challenge Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship at NXT No Mercy. Full results are listed below.

  • NXT Championship – #1 Contender’s Match: Wes Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov.
  • There was a video recapping Bron Breakker attacking Von Wagner’s head with the stairs from last week. After the video, Vic Joseph stated that Wagner had a “Minor Skull Fracture” with him being out for an indefinite time. 
  • Baron Corbin came to the ring to address the NXT Universe. Corbin reflected on being on the commentary team when Breakker slammed the stairs on Wagner’s head before telling Breakker to come to the ring. Corbin then changed his tone and praised Breakker’s actions from last week. Breakker & Corbin argued before Breakker challenged Corbin to a match at No Mercy. Corbin slapped Breakker in the face before the two exchanged slaps. 
  • Charlie Dempsey, Drew Gulak, & Damon Kemp def. Myles Bourne, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen (w/ Fallon Henley).
  • Andre Chase & Duke Hudson spoke backstage, where Chase asked Hudson to look for Hail. The segment transitioned into Jacy Jayne & Thea Hail in a lounge before two guys approached them. The guys made fun of Hail before Hail & Jayne laid them out. 
  • Lyra Valkyria def. Dana Brooke (w/ Kelani Jordan).
  • The NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament was announced.
  • Eddy Thorpe was interviewed backstage by McKenzie Mitchell, but was called out by DIJAK to the forest.
  • NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio confronted NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes for “stealing” his concept to get a challenger. After that, Hayes challenged Dominik to a one-on-one match. 
  • Becky Lynch was interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell backstage. Lynch said that no one thought she was championship material during her first NXT Run, but she was back to write those wrongs and become the new champion. Kiana James confronted Lynch and told Lynch she did not want her here, but Lynch said that she would come around for James after winning tonight. 
  • NXT Global Heritage Invitational – Group A Match: Tyler Bate def. Axiom.
  • Butch was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid, where he detailed his history with Tyler Bate ahead of their fourth match next week.
  • Joe Gacy & Ava Raine were in the forest with a burnt tree, saying that there were now “two roots”.
  • The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) (w/ Ivy Nile) def. Malik Blade & Edris Enofe.
    • NXT Tag Team Champions The Family (Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo) watched the match backstage while Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo watched from the Raven’s Nest. Bronco Nima & Lucien Prince brawled with Hank Walker & Tank Ledger on the ramp. 
  • Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria talked backstage, with Lynch telling Valkyria that she was making everyone back home proud. 
  • Roxanne Perez was backstage with Dani Palmer & two more wrestlers backstage ahead of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament before she was confronted by Elektra Lopez & Lola Vice regarding her “backstage issues”. 
  • NXT Global Heritage Invitational Group B Match: Nathan Frazer def. Akira Tozawa.
    • After the match, Joe Coffey said that he would run down over Duke Hudson next week, but Hudson responded by saying that he would spoil the party next week by defeating him. 
  • Mustafa Ali was interviewed backstage, with Ali saying that he would win the title at NXT No Mercy. Dragon Lee confronted Ali and told him Ali won with a fast count, but Ali said that he would give him a title match after he beats Dominik at No Mercy
  • Wes Lee walked to the parking lot, where he said he was “going home”. After he exited, Gigi Dolin & Blair Davenport randomly brawled backstage. 
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch def. Tiffany Stratton (c) (NEW CHAMPION!)
