WWE Hall of Famer will face Sheamus on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, which will celebrate the legend’s twenty-fifth anniversary with WWE. Edge has stated that the match is the last one on his current contract, and he doesn’t know what the future holds.

In a tweet, Ryan Satin of FOX Sports questioned whether the match would mark Edge’s last bout in a WWE ring. Cardona responded by tweeting that he hoped not. He wrote that Edge has “gotta wait for me to come home.”

Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, had a run alongside Curt Hawkins as the Edgeheads in WWE. They worked alongside Edge for nearly two years, as the trio was part of La Familia. They have remained friends over the years, and Cardona has previously expressed his interest in facing Edge.

Since his WWE release in 2020, Cardona has reinvented himself on the independent scene. He has won the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship and the GCW World Championship, among other titles.

Cardona recently stated that it would take a lot of convincing for him to exclusively sign with one company. Check out his comments here.
