Belal Muhammad Talks About Short Notice Win At UFC 208
Belal Muhammad earned his second UFC victory at UFC 208, where he defeated Randy Brown by unanimous decision.
Muhammad came into the fight as a late replacement opponent to face Brown, but that didn’t affect his performance at all.
“I train all year ’round no matter what, so any time they’ve got a fight, I’m happy to take a fight,” Muhammad said to MMA Junkie. “I’m trying to get five or six fights this year. I just want to get the ball rolling, keep the train moving.”
The welterweight contender was able to avenge his first MMA defeat in New York, as he was knocked out be Vincente Luque at UFC 205 a few months back. Despite taking the fight on just a few week’s notice, Muhammad had a lot of support in the crowd at UFC 208.
“It was crazy – I was still able to get 20 or 30 people to fly down with me,” he said. “I have a lot of people that support me and they’re the ones that make me stronger. Just to hear the crowd screaming my name in his home town, it felt good.”
Muhammad, prior to coming to the UFC in 2016, was the Titan Fighting Championships Welterweight Champion.
