Kurt Angle Reveals How Much He Wanted To Be Paid For 10-Match Deal With AEW

Kurt Angle is considered by many wrestling fans to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of his generation. Kurt Angle retired in 2019 after losing to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 39. However, because it’s professional wrestling, there are those that still hold out hope that Kurt Angle will one day step back into the squared circle.
In the past, Kurt Angle has mentioned that he is turned down offers from AEW and WWE. The proposed AEW deal was for a 10-match agreement. Now, Kurt Angle has revealed how much he wanted to be paid for those 10 matches.
Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medalist revealed that he wanted to be paid $300,000 per match, for a total of $3 million dollars to become All Elite.
“Well, to even consider coming back, it’s going to have to be a substantial amount of money,” said Kurt when asked if he would ever wrestle again. “I do remember, Tony Khan wanted me to come in and wrestle for him. This was like 4 years ago, and I said, ‘For 10 matches, I want $3 million.”
Angle laughed and was then interrupted by his wife, Giovanna who said he will never wrestle again. when questioned whether or not she be comfortable letting Kurt wrestle for three million dollars, she joked that she would get into a ring for that amount of money.
Angle had double knee replacement surgery in May. However, he did say that he is still open to wrestling John Cena, solely because he knows John Cena can carry him through the match. Read more here.
