AJ Lee Is Taking It Slow With Her Wrestling Return: Let’s Start With Commentary And Producing WOW
Not so fast, says AJ Lee in regards to her wrestling return.
AJ Lee’s story in professional wrestling is one of doing things her way and that’s exactly how she left the industry, retiring quietly after the Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
Now, AJ Mendez is getting back into the wrestling game as a producer and commentator for WOW: Women of Wrestling. Of course, once any former wrestler dips their toe back into the industry, there are always fans who are wondering if there could be more down the line, including potential matches.
AJ, in a new interview with MMA Uncaged, revealed that she does have people in her ear trying to get her to do more in wrestling but, at least for right now, she’s happy with taking it slow.
Asked if she has ever considered training in a martial arts discipline like her husband, CM Punk, AJ responded, ” I mean, look, I’ve loved training in — all kinds of training. So I’ve definitely like gone to train [MMA] and it’s fun.”
Continuing on, AJ Lee addressed whether or not she has once again been bitten by the wrestling bug.
“But all of the bugs of wrestling and all those things, there are definitely many people in my ear, trying to get me to do things and we’re gonna take it slow. We’re going to start with WOW, we’re gonna start with commentating and producing, and, you know, just one step at a time.”
There you have it. AJ is happy focusing on one thing at a time. For now, fans can learn more about her role in WOW at this link.
