Yair Rodríguez Views Eventual Title Shot As Inevitable Ahead Of UFC On ABC 3: “It’s Just A Matter Of Time”

UFC featherweight contender, Yair Rodríguez views the current title picture of the division as completely wide open.

Rodríguez spoke with reporters at Wednesday’s media day for this weekend’s UFC on ABC 3 event in Elmont, New York ahead of his main event clash with Brian Ortega, and explained why regardless of whether it’s himself or fellow contender, Josh Emmett, getting the next title shot at 145 pounds, he believes it’s only inevitable for the elite of the UFC’s featherweight division to face one another at some point.

“I think anybody in the division is a threat,” Rodríguez said. “Everybody’s really good. It doesn’t matter who it is. I think Josh Emmett is right there. As I’ve said before, he could fight for the title, I could fight for the title, anybody could fight for the title. It’s just a matter of timing. I think everybody in the division is going to face each other one day. It doesn’t matter if it’s the next months, one year, two years, we’re gonna face each other. So it doesn’t matter, it’s just a matter of time.”
