WSOF Signs Two Champions To New Contracts
World Series Of Fighting Heavyweight Champion Blagoy Ivanov and WSOF Featherweight Champion Lance Palmer have signed new multi-fight contracts with the promotion.
“They’ve been great champions for us,” Sefo said to MMA Fighting, “and we wanted to keep them and re-sign them. We’ve been really happy with the way they’ve been progressing in their careers.”
Ivanov (14-1-0-1NC) won the WSOF Heavyweight Title when he defeated Smealinho Rama by submission at the WSOF 21. Ivanov has already defended the gold twice, defeating the duo of Derrick Mehmen and Josh Copeland. Ivanov’s next title defense will be coming at the WSOF 35 and he will be defending the gold against UFC veteran Shawn Jordan.
Palmer (11-2-0) is a two time WSOF Featherweight Champion, defeating Rick Glenn to win the title the first time and defeating Alexandre Almeida to win the title the second time. Palmer defended the title once during his first reign, defeating Chris Horodecki by submission at the WSOF 21. Palmer will be defending the gold against Andre Harris in the co-main event this coming Saturday Night at the WSOF 35.
The light heavyweight, middleweight and bantamweight titles are currently vacant in the promotion, while Justin Gaethje holds the lightweight gold and Jon Fitch holds the welterweight belt.
