WSOF Champion Talking To UFC
World Series Of Fighting Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes is currently a free agent, and isn’t talking to the WSOF right now, he’s talking to the UFC and he has an opponent in mind. h
“I believe Marlon is capable of beating any bantamweight in the world,” Moraes’s agent Ali Abdelaziz said to MMA Junkie. “Jimmie needs a fight, and Marlon deserves to fight a top-ranked opponent if he signs with the UFC. This fight just makes sense.”
Moraes' last fight under his WSOF contract came in December at the WSOF 34.
Moraes (18-4-1) has been with the WSOF since the promotions debut show in November 2012 and he’s the promotions only bantamweight champion. Moraes won the bantamweight title at the WSOF 9 by defeating Josh Rettinghouse, he would defend the belt five times in the promotion, with notable wins coming over Josh Hill (twice) and Sheymon Moraes. Moraes last competed at the WSOF 34, where he defended his title against Josenaldo Silva, Moraes won the fight after Silva was injured late in the first round.
As for Jimmie Rivera, Moraes desired opponent, he hasn’t competed since defeating the now retired Urijah Faber at UFC 203 this past September, he pulled out of a recent bout with Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 103.
