Vitor Belfort Has One More UFC Fight Left After UFC 212
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort is taking on former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nate Marquardt at UFC 212.
Belfort has been saying that he would be fighting outside of the UFC after UFC 212, but there may be a little hitch to that plan.
According to a report from MMA Fighting, the Brazilian MMA legend still has another fight left on his contract following the fight with Marquardt this weekend.
The Brazilian had been talking more and more about competing outside of the UFC, recently challenging the duo of Bellator 180 headliners Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva to fights as well.
Even though he is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, the Brazilian hasn’t found much success in the UFC over the last two years. Belfort is going to be entering UFC 212 having lost four of his last five fights, defeating Dan Henderson, while dropping fights to Chris Weidman, Ronaldo Souza and Gegard Mousasi, plus he fought Kelvin Gastelum to a no contest.
UFC 212 takes place on Saturday, June 3 from the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Jose Aldo and Max Holloway headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
