Vitor Belfort Calls His One Championship Run “The Last Dance”
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort signed with One Championship last year, but has yet to make his promotional debut.
When Belfort does make his One Championship debut, it will start what the fighter has dubbed “The Last Dance.”
“We call it ‘The Last Dance,’ so I am on my last dance for sure,” he said to MMA Mania. “We’re going to make that last dance last long. I’m looking forward to making it happen. I’m reinventing myself for the last time in action. I’ll always be participating to help this sport. I’ll be involved and I love business.”
Belfort hasn’t competed since UFC 224, where he suffered a second round knockout loss to former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida.
The One Championship star also believes that MMA will be a part of the Olympics one day, which he would like to be a part of.
“I see so many things we need to change,” he said. “I can be involved with the MMA in Olympics one day. It’s going to demand guys with vision who can see the future. I think I can see the future. When I was 16-years-old, I saw that MMA would be the biggest sport in the world. It is.”
When Belfort does make his One Championship debut, it is rumored that Belfort will face Alain Ngalani.
