UFC veteran Tim Hague has been declared dead after sustaining a brutal knockout in a recent boxing match at the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Hague was knocked out by Adam Braidwood in the fight, but his head hit the mat in a brutal fashion and although he briefly regained consciousness, was rushed to a local hospital. Surgery was performed on the UFC veteran’s brain to relieve pressure, and he was placed in an intensive care unit battling for his life. Unfortunately, the 34-year old passed away Sunday.
MMA reporters "Showdown" Joe Ferraro, James Lynch and Cody Russell, plus fighter Cody Krahn have posted updates on the fighter through social media:

Sources in contact with teammates at the hospital tell me Hague was declared brain dead 2 hrs ago. Such a tragedy. Thoughts with his family.

Worth noting: Hague was KO'd April 17 — less than two months prior to his fight last night. Fight was basically boxing with MMA gloves.

The five fight UFC veteran earned a record of 1-4-0 in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Pat Barry at UFC 98. Hague would go on to compete in WSOF, KOTC, and other promotions. Outside of the UFC, he's pick up wins over Zak Jensen, Travis Wiuff, Sherman Pedergarst and Kalib Starnes.
Fightful would like to extend our condolences to Hague's friends, family and fans.
