UFC Veteran Terry Etim Hospitalized After Jumping Into Traffic

Eleven fight UFC veteran Terry Etim is currently hospitalized in a Liverpool, England hospital after apparently throwing himself again multiple vehicles for what is at this time, unknown reasons.

The Liverpool Echo, which first broke the story, has provided some extra details on the situation:

It appeared he threw himself against as many as four vehicles, including three single-decker Stagecoach and Arriva buses. All except one were believed to be stationary at the time.

He was eventually restrained by police and taken to hospital. His condition was this evening described as serious.

The dramatic events in East Prescot Road close to the Navigator pub traffic lights junction began shortly after 2pm.

Eyewitnesses who work in a nearby parade of shops first became aware of a man running in and out of traffic and throwing himself against the windscreens of a number of vehicles, leaving him covered in blood.

One witness stated that Etim was only trying to injure himself by throwing himself into vehicles, nobody else was harmed by him during the incident. The same witness would also describe the UFC veteran as covered in blood from head to toe, although whether the blood was from throwing himself into vehicles or by another means isn’t known at this time.

A second witness said that he was a part of a group in a local park that tried to restrain Etim , but he was able to free himself from the group.

Etim has been a professional MMA fighter for over eleven years, fighting top names like Matt Grice, Gleison Tibau, Rich Clementi, Sam Stout, Justin Buchholz, Rafael Ds Anjos, Brian Cobb, Edson Barboza and Renee Forte. He last competed at Bellator 109 in November 2013, where he earned a unanimous decision win over Patrick Cenoble.

Etim hasn’t competed in some time after suffering a torn ACL while preparing for a tournament in Bellator MMA in 2014.
