UFC Veteran Headlining Cage Warriors 83

A welterweight division attraction will be headlining next month’s Cage Warriors 83 card as UFC veteran Che Mills is taking on Lewis Long.

Mills (16-9-0-3NC) has won just one of his last seven fights heading into this encounter and he hasn’t earned a victory in over three years. Mills has also won just two of six fights during his multiple runs in Cage Warriors, with those two wins coming over Jake Hecht and Leeroy Barnes. Mills also earned a record of 2-1-0-1NC during his four fight UFC tenure, which includes a no contest against Fightful’s very own Matt Riddle at UFC On Fuel TV 7.

Long (14-4-0) will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak and this will be his first promotional appearance in almost a year. Long has won three fights in Cage Warriors competition, those three wins have come over Mark Glover, Steven Dinsdale and Matt Inman. Long is actually winless against UFC veterans, having dropped a fight to Andreas Stahl at Cage Warriors 76.

Cage Warriors 83 takes place on Saturday, May 6 from the Newport Centre in Newport, Wales with Che Mills and Lewis Long headlining. The event will be airing live on UFC Fight Pass.
