UFC Veteran Gerald Harris Coming Out Of Retirement; Headlining Legacy FC 63
It has been over three years since UFC and WSOF veteran Gerald Harris has competed in an MMA fight, but the wait is over as Harris has ended his retirement and he will return to the sport to fight Aaron Cobb in the main event of Legacy Fighting Championships 63.
Harris (22-5-0) earned a record of 3-1-0 in the UFC, defeating the trio of John Salter, Mario Miranda and current WSOF Light Heavyweight/Middleweight Champion David Branch. Harris would be released by the promotion after a lackluster fight with Maiquel Falcao.
Harris won five of his last six fights before retiring in August of 2013, with notable wins coming over Kazuhiro Nakamura, Mike Bronzoulis and Jorge Santiago.
Cobb (6-3-0) will also be returning to action after a three-year hiatus. He is a longtime veteran of the Hit ‘Em Hard MMA promotion.
Harris had been teasing a return to action for some time now, including a recent appearance on MMA Junkie Radio.
“My personal life is so much better now. I have a beautiful wife. We have a child on the way. I have a gym that’s going great. I’m teaching high school. To me, fighting is not ‘do or die.’ When I was fighting in 2010, every fight, I was just paying bills, and I was afraid to lose. That’s why my fights weren’t so exciting. I was afraid to lose. A lot of guys can relate to that,” said Harris.
Legacy Fighting Championships 63 will take place on Friday, December 2nd from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Gerald Harris and Aaron Cobb headlining.
