UFC Veteran Charged With Assaulting A Family Member

UFC veteran Cody Pfister has been charged with assault and causing bodily harm to a family member by the Potter County (Texas) Sheriffs Department. The fighter was arrested on July 15 at 1am, although the incident took place on June 5 and a warrant was issued on 27.

The former UFC fighter was held at the Potter County Detention Center in Amarillo, Texas and was later released after paying bail, which was set at $5,000.

Pfister was actually arrested the night before his new MMA promotion, Fist Fight Night, was scheduled to run its first event. Despite being arrested, the former fighter turned promoter still attended his promotion's debut event without incident.

Fist Fight Night is a promotion run by Pfister and business partner Dustin Swaim. It should be noted that Pfister has yet to get a trial or court hearing for the charge, so he is innocent until proven guilty.

During his four fight tenure in the UFC the welterweight earned just a single victory and that came over Yosdenis Cedeno at UFC 189. Pfister retired after a victory in his Bellator MMA debut at Bellator 174, where he defeated Jonathan Gary by first round submission with a rear naked choke.
