Play-by-Play
(#5) MacKenzie Dern vs. (#6) Marina Rodriguez
Round One – The main event of the evening is officially underway. Rodriguez opens up the offense with a pair of jabs that both find it’s mark then follows it up with a right hook that also lands. Dern lunges forward, latches onto the body of Rodriguez but can’t get control and Rodriguez circles back to the center of the octagon. Dern initiates the clinch, goes for another takedown but Rodriguez is again alert to the move and gets herself out of danger. Rodriguez lands a solid right hook, Dern responds with a spinning back fist that partially lands as the buzzer sounds to signal the end of the opening frame.
Round Two – Rodriguez opens the second round with a front kick to the body that just misses the mark. Dern again goes for the clinch but is outpowered by Rodriguez, who gets the fight back to the center of the cage. Dern wobbles Rodriguez with a right hook, tosses Rodriguez to the mat but Dern ends up on the bottom after a scramble but swiftly gets to top control where she scrambles out of a d’arce choke attempt from Rodriguez. After a wild scramble, Dern ends up with back control, reigns down shots on Rodriguez, who tries to kick herself off the fence to no avail, Dern is aggressively going for the armbar but the buzzer sounds to save the day for Rodriguez.
Round Three – Round number three opens with Rodriguez landing a solid kick to the lead leg of Dern and follows it up with a jab that lands flush. Rodriguez partially lands a head kick, Dern faints a takedown then gets jabbed by Rodriguez for her troubles. Dern launches forward but can’t get her hands around Rodriguez, who circles and lands a nice combination on Dern’s jaw. Dern is able to initiate the clinch against the fence but Rodriguez reverses the momentum, circles back to the center of the octagon and stymies a last-second single leg attempt from Dern as the buzzer sounds.
Round Four – Main event rounds are now upon us and Rodriguez starts the round exactly how she started the previous one, on the offensive. Rodriguez lands a pair of jabs and she’s really beginning to find her range. A straight right from Rodriguez lands flush on the nose of Dern, who’s corner is going ballistic for her to be more aggressive but Rodriguez just continues the onslaught. Dern continues to look for the takedown but isn’t having any luck in doing so but Rodriguez rushed forward and trips up and Dern ends up in mount, she desperately looks for a submission but the buzzer sounds to send this one to a fifth and final round.
Round Five – The fifth and final round commences and it appears as if Dern may need a finish to steal a victory from Rodriguez. Dern aggressively pushes forward but she eats a combination from Rodriguez, who follows it up with a kick to the body of Dern that also hits it’s mark. Dern desperately latches onto Rodriguez in the clinch, goes for a last-second hip toss but is pushed away by Rodriguez and the buzzer sounds that’ll send this one to the judges scorecards.

Randy Brown vs. Jared Gooden
Round One – The co-main event of the evening is underway and Gooden is on the aggressive but just narrowly missed a sweeping front leg kick but lands an overhand right which causes Brown to spin out of further damage, Gooden tries to latch onto the back but Brown shrugs him off and circles back to the center of the octagon. Brown drills Gooden with a right uppercut, slips out of a counter from Gooden and lands another uppercut for good measure as the buzzer sounds to close the opening round.
Round Two – Gooden yet again is the aggressor to begin the round but Brown stops the momentum with a counter left hook. Gooden ducks out of the way of an overhand right attempt from Brown then sends Brown to the mat with a straight left. Brown scrambles back to his feet and blasts Gooden with a straight left of his own and just missed a right head kick that very well could’ve ended the fight. Brown continues the barrage and wobbles Gooden with a straight right but the buzzer sounds to potentially save Gooden for the time being.
Round Three – The final frame is underway and Gooden knows he may need a finish for the win, so he comes out swinging for a third consecutive round. Brown meets Gooden’s aggressiveness with a front kick to the body and follows it up with a straight right that lands flush. Brown begins to let Gooden know that he’s landing some shots and begins to showboat a bit but his foot is clearly bothering him, possibly from the aforementioned front kick to the body. Brown goes for a judo throw, which possibly confirms the foot issue but he’s shoved aside by Gooden but Brown is able to drag him to the mat and goes for a flurry of submission attempts but to no avail, the buzzer sounds and this one is heading to the judge’s scorecards.

(#9) Tim Elliott vs. (#11) Matheus Nicolau
Round One – Nicolau opens the action with a swift low inside leg kick before he eats a left hand flush from Elliott. Nicolau fires back with a left of his own that finds a home but Elliott drags him to the mat with a slick single leg takedown. Nicolau swiftly gets back to his feet and lands a 1-2 flush on the nose of Elliott as the buzzer sounds which ends the opening frame.
Round Two – Round number two opens and Eliot’s immediately shoots for the takedown but Nicolau is alert to the attempt and slides out of danger before landing a pair of kicks to the lead leg of Elliott. Nicolau lands a left hook before shutting down yet another takedown attempt from Elliott and makes Elliott eat an uppercut for his troubles. Elliott again goes for a takedown but is once again shown the door by Nicolau, who avoids a standing neck crank from Elliott as the round comes to an end.
Round Three – The third and final frame is officially underway and Nicolau stops Elliott in his tracks with a straight right but that doesn’t divert Elliott from going for the legs, which he uses as a distraction and lands a solid pair of jabs that stymies Nicolau’s forward push for the time being. Elliott still can’t secure the takedown but Nicolau ends up sneaking in a perfectly timed takedown. Now on top, Nicolau slams Elliott to create a bit of separation to fire off a few shots before Elliott locks him up to avoid any further damage. Nicolau allows Elliott to the feet, the pair trade off a few shots until the buzzer sounds, marking an end to this one.

Sabina Mazo vs. Mariya Agapova
Round One – A pair of UFC Women’s Flyweights head into this one hoping to break into the top-15 with a statement victory. Agapova opens the offense with a slick 1-2 combination that ends when a left hook finds it’s home. Agapova lands yet another left hand, goes for a takedown but is quickly stuffed aside by Mazo. Agapova drills Mazo with a kick to the body, follows it up with a spinning back-fist and narrowly avoids a high-kick from Mazo as the round comes to a close.
Round Two: Mazo brings the offense to begin the middle frame, possibly signaling she believes she dropped the opening round to Agapova. The pair trade low kicks before Agapova finds a home for a straight left that opens up Mazo’s nose as blood begins to leak from the wound. Mazo shoots for a takedown but is shunned by Agapova as the buzzer sounds sending this one to the third and final frame
Round Three: The third and final round is underway, Mazo presses forward but is dropped by a thunderous right from Agapova, who immediately locks-in the choke and Mazo doesn’t press the issue and Agapova gets the tap.
