Play-by-Play
(#5) Marlon Vera vs. (#8) Dominick Cruz
Round One – Cruz wallops Vera with a kick to the body to start. Cruz lands a low kick then another and shoots for the takedown and gets Vera to the mat. Cruz allows Vera right back up and Vera drops Cruz with a right hook. Cruz pops right back to his feet and responds with a 1-2 then a low kick and another 1-2. Cruz peppers Vera with the jab then dives in for another takedown and gets it. Cruz rides out the final few seconds of the round on top until the horn sounds to end the opening frame.
Round Two – Cruz opens with a low kick. Cruz lands another kick to Vera’s lead leg, then a 1-2 and another low kick. Vera comes back with a right hook but eats yet another 1-2 from Cruz. Vera whiffs on an overhand right, Cruz rips a hook to the body and peppers Vera with the jab before landing another 1-2. Cruz shoots for a takedown but Vera stuffs it at the buzzer and this one is headed to round number three.
Round Three – Cruz with another leg kick to start. Cruz lands yet another low kick and now Vera looks to be bothered by the repeated blows to the leg. Vera sends Cruz to the canvas with a right but Cruz may have slipped as he pops right back up to his feet. Cruz lands a 1-2 then dives in for a takedown but Vera sprawls and shoves Cruz aside. Cruz continues to land the combos then works the jab and the horn sounds to send this one to the main event rounds.
Round Four – Vera wallops Cruz with a right hook and Cruz is down but gets right back up. Vera sends Cruz right back down with a head kick then swarms Cruz with a few follow up shots and this one is waved off! What a finish by Marlon Vera!

Nate Landwehr vs. David Onama
Round One – A 1-2 from Onama opens the action. Onama rocks Landwehr with a left hook then he drops Landwehr with a right hook but Landwehr scrambles right back up to his feet. Onama sends Landwehr right back to the canvas with a left hook and he swarms him with heavy ground and pound. Landwehr scrambles, Onama gets the back but Landwehr reverses the position and ends up on top and starts hammering Onama with elbows. Onama scrambles and both men are back to their feet. Landwehr rocks Onama with a right hook, Onama comes back with a 1-2 and Landwehr is pouring blood from a cut on his cheek. Onama initiates the clinch, Landwehr busts Onama open now with an elbow on the break and the horn sounds to end one of the most entertaining rounds of the year.
Round Two – Landwehr sees Onama is gassed and starts pouring it on early and often. Landwehr blasts Onama with a 1-2 then trips Onama to the mat. Landwehr teases the anaconda choke, Onama slides out, Landwehr ends up with back control but Onama slides out yet again and this one ends up back on the feet. Onama stuns Landwehr with a right hook but responds with a 1-2 then rips a hook to the body. Landwehr shoves Onama to the mat and lights up Onama with some ground and pound but the buzzer sounds and this one is somehow headed to the third and final round.
Round Three – Onama pushed forward and drills Landwehr with a 1-2. Landwehr looks to be the much fresher fighter but he’s eating some shots early here in the final frame. Both men are hyping up the crowd, Onama looks for a takedown, Landwehr trips Onama and ends up on top but he gets up and urges the crowd to get on their feet as he wants this one standing up. Onama rocks Landwehr with a right hook, Landwehr clinches and hits Onama with a knee whilst on the inside. Onama trips to the mat, Landwehr gets on top and starts raining down shots, Onama scrambles back to his feet, both men start throwing fire for the final 30-seconds, Onama drops Landwehr with a right hook but Landwehr pops right back up and the horn sounds to send this bonafide Fight of The Year contender to the judge’s scorecards! What a scrap!

Yazmin Jauregui vs. Jasmin Lucindo
Round One – Jauregui opens the action with a lead leg kick. Lucindo returns fire and lands a low kick of her own but Jauregui comes back with a right hook that lands. Jauregui lands a left hook but Lucindo drills her with a counter 1-2 and clinches Jauregui against the fence. Jauregui shoves Lucindo back but the horn sounds to end the opening frame.
Round Two – Jauregui with a 1-2 to start. Jauregui opens up and drills Lucinda with a left hook and clinches Lucindo against the fence but quickly backs off. Jauregui wallops Lucindo with another 1-2, then a right hook and a low kick. Jauregui rips a right hook to the body and lands another kick to Lucindo’s lead leg at the buzzer and this one is headed to the third and final round.
Round Three – A wild exchange opens the final frame. Jauregui lands a 1-2 then a left hook and another leg kick. Lucindo lands a low kick of her own and then also lands a right hook. Jauregui comes back with a leg kick but eats an overhand right from Lucindo. Jauregui peppers Lucindo with the jab then lands a 1-2 and the horn sounds that’ll send this one to the judge’s scorecards.
Result: Yazmin Jauregui def. Jasmin Lucindo via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
Devin Clark vs. Azamat Murzakanov
Round One – Clark with a low kick to start. Murzakanov cracks Clark with an overhand left but Clark comes right back and partially lands a head kick. Murzakanov lands a straight left then a 1-2 but Clark plants a thunderous leg kick onto the Russian standout’s lead leg and Murzakanov nearly trips as he tries to shake off the pain but the horn sounds to perhaps save Murzakanov from any further damage.
Round Two – Murzakanov, who looks a bit more recovered from the leg kick, lands a 1-2 to open the middle frame. Murzakanov follows up with a right hook then initiates the clinch and has Clark pressed against the fence. Murzakanov lands some knees to Clark’s thighs but Clark slides out and circled back to the center of the octagon. Murzakanov cracks Clark with an overhand left and Clark either got knocked down or tripped, perhaps both and Murzakanov swarms him and lands some ground and pound but Clark somehow survives until the buzzer as this one is headed to the third and final round.
Round Three – Murzakanov immediately rips a hook to the body and it folds Clark, Murzakanov swarms Clark and unloads heavy ground and pound and this one is waved off! What a finish by Azamat Murzakanov!

Priscila Cachoeira vs. Ariane Lipski
Round One – Cachoeira wallops Lipski with a left hook right off the bat. A wild exchange ensues, Cachoeira connects with another big left and Lipski is down on the mat, Cachoeira rushes over and drops some heavy ground and pound and this one is waved off! Statement performance from Priscila Cachoeira!
Result: Priscila Cachoeira def. Ariane Lipski via TKO (punches) (1:05, R1)
Gerald Meerschaert vs. Bruno Silva
Round One – Silva lands a 1-2 to start. Meerschaert dives in for a takedown and drags his Brazilian counterpart to the mat. Meerschaert doesn’t do much from top control and the referee doesn’t seem too interested in standing his one back up and Meerschaert rides out nearly the entire round on top and the horn sounds to end an uneventful opening frame.
Round Two – Meerschaert opens the action with a front kick to the body. Silva whiffs on a looping left hook and Meerschaert counters with a low kick. Silva starts throwing wild punches but virtually nothing lands as Meerschaert lands a side kick to the body. Meerschaert goes back to the well and lands another low kick and the buzzer sounds to end yet another uneventful round.
Round Three – Meerschaert ducks under a head kick and tries for a takedown, Silva shoves him back but Meerschaert clobbers Silva with a left hook and the Brazilian is down on the mat. Meerschaert rushes to Silva and locks in a guillotine and Silva quickly taps! What a performance by Gerald Meerschaert!
