UFC Returning To China On August 31

The UFC is headed back to China in August.

Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that they will return to China on Aug. 31 for a Fight Night event. The event is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen at the Universiade Sports Centre, which seats 18,000 fans. This will mark the UFC’s third trip to mainland China. No headlining bout was announced for the event.

The Octagon last traveled to China on Nov. 18, 2018 for UFC Fight Night in Beijing. That event was headlined by the rematch between Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou. Chinese fighters went 6-3 on that card. The promotion debuted in mainland China in Nov. 2017 with a card headlined by Michael Bisping against Kelvin Gastelum. Chinese fighters went 5-3 inside the cage on that night.

Li Jingliang (16-5)
Yadong Song (18-3)
Yan Xiaonan (10-1, 1 NC)
Yanan Wu (10-2)

UFC will open a Performance Institute in Shanghai, China this June.

Fightful will have live coverage of UFC in Shenzhen on the day of the event.
