UFC Rankings Breakdown: Urijah Faber And Miesha Tate Retirements Reshape Divisions

We have a rare gap between events, but that gives us a little breathing room to break down the most recent UFC Rankings.

A couple of retirements reshaped the men's and women's bantamweight divisions, as Urijah Faber and Miesha Tate were both pulled from the UFC rankings. This gave previously unranked Rani Yahya a spot in the 135 top 15 at #14 (he jumped Takeya Mizugaki who lost last weekend). The inconsistent but recently victorious Leslie Smith showed up at #145 on the women's side.

Michelle Waterson jumped four spots to #7 in the women's strawweight division, while Paige VanZant fell two to #9. Juliana Lima and Jessica Aguilar both also dropped spots, with Alexa Grasso hopping up to #14.

The women's bantamweight division saw Jessica Eye, Germaine de Randamie and Ashlee Evans-Smith all pop up one spot, while Marion Reneau improved two to #12. A Women's Featherweight ranking slot has been opened up, but features no women. The woman likely to grab that #1 slot is Cris Cyborg, who moved up to #11 in the P4P rankings.

The men's bantamweight division saw a shift, as eight fighters overall in the wake of Faber's retirement.
