Alexa Grasso (C) vs. (#1) Valentina Shevchenko — UFC Flyweight Championship

Round One – Shevchenko lands a kick to the body to open the main event. Grasso lands a 1-2, Shevchenko counters with a left hook and a side kick to the body. Shevchenko lands another left hook, Grasso finds a home for a low kick, and the challenger lands a straight left. Grasso clinches, Shevchenko shoves her back, and lands a left hook on the break. Grasso lands a left hook of her own, then jabs, and lands a 1-2. Shevchenko dives in for a takedown, Grasso defends well, but eats an elbow by Shevchenko on the break. The former champion lands a jab, Grasso comes roaring back with a right hook, and Shevchenko clinches. Shevchenko spins Grasso and trips her down to the mat and has about a minute to work from top control. Grasso spins, Shevchenko gets the back and looks for the choke, but Grasso slips out and gets back to her feet. Shevchenko lands a knee to the body and reinitiates the clinch. Grasso lands some short punches in the clinch and the horn sounds to end an eventful opening frame.

Round Two – Grasso lands a 1-2 to open the round. Shevchenko clinches but Grasso quickly breaks the hold and shoves the challenger back. Grasso lands a lead leg kick, Shevchenko lands one of her own, Shevchenko wallops Grasso with a left hook, but Grasso counters with a right hook and Shevchenko is down! Shevchenko clinches, Grasso lands a right hook, Shevchenko is hurt again! Grasso unloads a bevy of uppercuts, Shevchenko backs up, shoots, and secured a perfectly time takedown. Shevchenko holds top control and doesn’t seem to be in any rush as she’s looking to recover here. Grasso has an odd hold secured but Shevchenko slips out of it and looks to be OK considering what she just endured on the feet. Both competitors are landing short shots from in close whilst latched together on the mat. Shevchenko separates and stands but eats an up-kick from the champion. Shevchenko lands a few kicks to the thighs and legs of a downed Grasso and the champion is very active with up-kicks to the legs of the challenger. Shevchenko jumps back down to top control but Grasso is aggressive from her back and lands a few punches. Shevchenko lands a heavy shot from top control at the horn and this one is headed to round number three.

Round Three – Shevchenko lands a right hook to start. Shevchenko dives in and secures the double leg takedown. Shevchenko gets to side control, Grasso scrambles back to her feet, but Shevchenko sneaks in the guillotine choke and this one is tight! Grasso is holding on and looks to be as relaxed as possible, the challenger’s hold seems to be extremely tight, but Grasso breaks the hold loose! Grasso spins, Shevchenko gets back control and falls back with the body triangle intact. Grasso spins to her stomach but Shevchenko stays latched onto the back and remains in control for the time being. Grasso is throwing punches over her shoulder that seemingly all land but nothing of consequence. Shevchenko’s body triangle is really tight and everytime Grasso twists, she remains with control of the champion’s back. Grasso’s able to create some separation and gets top control, Shevchenko transitions to an arm-bar, but the horn sounds to send this one to the championship rounds.

Round Four – Grasso opens the championship rounds with a low kick. Shevchenko peppers in the jab as Grasso goes back to the well with another low kick. Grasso lands a clean left hook, then a lead leg kick, Shevchenko dives in for a takedown but Grasso sprawls and defends nicely. Grasso has Shevchenko’s head clinched and lands a bevy of knees to the head and body as the challenger backs up to the fence. Grasso shoves Shevchenko down and looks for the arm-bar but Shevchenko spins out of danger and ends up with side control. Grasso scrambles and gets back to her feet, shoved Shevchenko off of her but the challenger lands an elbow on the break. Shevchenko jabs and a cut has opened up on the left corner of the champion’s left eye. Grasso lands a low kick, Shevchenko continues to find a home for the jab, and follows it up with a 1-2. Shevchenko jabs yet again and looks for the takedown and she gets it. Grasso quickly scrambles back to her feet, Shevchenko clinches, Grasso rolls through to look for an ankle lock, but she runs out of time as the horn sounds to send this one to the fifth and final round.

Round Five – Shevchenko picks right up where she left off with the jab. Grasso lands a low kick, Shevchenko does the same, and lands another jab in-behind. Shevchenko lands a right hook, then another jab, and Grasso lands a right hook of her own. Grasso lands a low kick, and Shevchenko continues to land jab after jab. It looks as if the champion may need a late finish to keep her title or we’ll be seeing Shevchenko regaining her place atop the mountain at 125-pounds. Shevchenko looks for a takedown but Grasso stuffs it and lands on top with back control. Grasso is landing shot after shot, Shevchenko covers up, Grasso looks for the choke but continues to land shots instead. Grasso locks in the choke, Shevchenko slips out, but Grasso continues the barrage of strikes. Grasso falls to her back and has the body triangle locked up. Grasso is hammering Shevchenko here late and looks for a last-second neck crank, but the horn sounds to send this one to the judge’s scorecards! What a fight!

(#13) Kevin Holland vs. (#14) Jack Della Maddalena

Round One – Maddalena lands a low kick to start. Holland clinches, Maddalena shoves him back and lands a 1-2. Maddalena lands a lead leg kick, then another, before planting a side kick onto the body of Holland. Maddalena clinches, Holland spins to Maddalena’s back but Maddalena’s able to wiggle him off. Holland lands a right hook, then an elbow, and a low kick. Holland finds a home for a right hook, Maddalena throws a kick as Holland spins, and the kick lands right on Holland’s butt. Holland laughs and slaps his own butt as Maddalena lands a 1-2 at the horn and this one is headed to round number two.

Round Two – Holland lands a front kick to the body to open round number two. Maddalena lands a side kick to the body, then a 1-2 back up top. Holland drills Maddalena with a right hook, then a 1-2 of his own. Holland whiffs on a high kick, Maddalena comes back with a right hook. Maddalena finds a home for a low kick, then a flurry of punches to both Holland’s head and body. Holland lands an elbow, then catches a Maddalena body kick attempt at the horn, and this one is headed to the third and final round.

Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Holland. 19-19 after two rounds.

Round Three – Holland lands a spinning back elbow to open the final frame. Maddalena lands a 1-2, Holland clinches, Maddalena shoves him back, and Holland lands an elbow on the break. Maddalena lands a 1-2, then an elbow, then another 1-2, and the horn sounds to send this one to the judge’s scorecards.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Terrence Mitchell

Round One – Rosas opens the action with a 1-2. Mitchell comes roaring back with a 1-2 of his own, followed by a right hook that lands clean. Rosas drills Mitchell with a left hook and Mitchell is hurt! Rosas rushes over and lands some heavy ground and pound, Mitchell is defending, the referee warns him to fight back, and this one is waved off! Raul Rosas Jr. secures the biggest win of his young career!

Result: Raul Rosas Jr. def. Terrence Mitchell via TKO (punches) (0:54, R1)

Daniel Zellhuber vs. Christos Giagos

Round One – Giagos opens up the bout with a right hook that lands. Giagos wallops Zellhuber with a 1-2, then goes for a takedown but Zellhuber defends well and shoves Giagos back. Giagos continues the forward pressure and lands another 1-2 as Zellhuber comes flying forward with a knee but Giagos evades. Giagos goes for another takedown but Zellhuber remains upright and the horn sounds to end round number one.

Round Two – Zellhuber opens the frame with a low kick. Zellhuber lands a right hook, then a 1-2. Giagos looks for a takedown but he’s once again turned aside by Zellhuber. Giagos clinches and looks for the takedown, Zellhuber latches on and looks for an anaconda choke, then rolls to tighten the hold, and Giagos has no choice but to tap out! Daniel Zellhuber with a massive win in front of the Mexican faithful!​​​​​​

Fernando Padilla vs. Kyle Nelson

Round One – Nelson lands a low kick to open the action. Padilla lands a jab, then another, and Nelson’s nose is quickly busted open. Nelson peppers the jab then gets kicked below the belt and the fight is briefly paused. Nelson gives the OK and this one is quickly back underway. Padilla whiffs on a wild kick then eats an elbow from Nelson. Nelson lands a 1-2, Padilla comes back with a counter right hook, and the horn sounds to end the opening frame.

Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Nelson.

Round Two – Padilla lands a low kick to start. Nelson lands a lead leg kick of his own and Padilla is limping a bit. Nelson lands a head kick, then a massive right hook, and Padilla is hurt! Nelson smells blood and opens up his offense with a 1-2, then another low kick. Nelson goes back to the well with another low kick, then a jab, and another right hook at the horn, and this one is headed to the third and final round.

Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Nelson. 20-18 to Nelson after two rounds.

Round Three – Nelson lands a 1-2 to start the final frame. Nelson lands a kick to the body, then rips a right hook to the body in behind. Nelson lands a pair of straight lefts, then a low kick, and another lead leg kick for good measure. Nelson dives down for a takedown, Padilla drops to a knee, but pops back up Nelson lands a knee to the body for his troubles, and the horn sounds to send this one to the judge’s scorecards.
