UFC Issues Statement On Jon Jones’ Recent Arrest

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was arrested early this morning, being charged with aggravated DWI, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and driving with no proof of insurance.

This is just a string in a series of legal issues the fighter has had over the years, which includes a DUI in 2012, a hit and run incident in 2015, a strip club incident in 2019 and multiple failed drug tests in the UFC.

ESPN was able to get a statement from the UFC on Jones’ arrest, with that statement saying:

“UFC is aware of the situation regarding Jon Jones in Albuquerque early this morning. The organization has been in contact with Jones’ management team and is currently gathering additional information.”

Jones, who has already been released from jail after this latest incident, is due in court on April 9 for a bond arraignment.

There has been no statement from Jones or one of his representatives at this time. Jones last competed in the main event of UFC 247, scoring a controversial unanimous decision victory over Dominick Reyes.
