UFC On Fox 29 Overnight Ratings Are In
UFC On Fox 29 aired this past Saturday and the overnight ratings are in, with the show getting second place in key demographics.
The four fight main card, headlined by former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier, drew a total of 1,780,000 viewers in the overnight ratings. The show did well in the key demographics, coming in second place for the male 18-49 and male 18-34 demographics.
There was a lot of opposition from other networks going head to head against UFC On Fox 29, with the biggest being an NHL Playoff Game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins, which aired live on NBC. That sporting event brought in a total of 2,180,000 viewers according to the overnight ratings.
Overnight ratings tell a small part of the story for the UFC On Fox 29 viewership, as the full TV ratings will not be released until Tuesday. As those ratings will show for the main card, preliminary card (which aired live on Fox), pre-fight show (which aired on Fox Sports 1), post-fight show (which aired on Fox Sports 2) and the weigh-in show (which aired on Fox Sports 1).
Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Atlantic City with Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee in the main event slot. That event will have a six fight main card airing live on Fox Sports 1, with a four fight preliminary card airing live on the same channel.
