UFC On Fox 27 Draws Lowest Ratings In Series History, Bellator 193 Does Well
This past weekend saw two big free TV MMA events from the UFC and Bellator MMA, with the first being Bellator 193 on Friday Night.
That show aired live on the Paramount Network with UFC veteran Lorenz Larkin defeating Fernando Gonzalez by decision in the main event. The show drew a total of 470,000 viewers, with other MMA stars like Kendall Grove and Saad Awad also competing at the event.
UFC On Fox 27 took place the following day and the show headlined by Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson drew the lowest ratings in the "UFC On Fox" series history. The show drew a total of 1,770,000 viewers, which is 213,000 viewers lower than the previous bottom of the barrel event and that was UFC On Fox 21.
Even the main event bout between Souza and Brunson was the second lowest watched main event in UFC On Fox history, drawing a grand total of 2,224,000 viewers.
People were are able to stream the event live via Fox Sports Go and Fox Now, with those bringing in another 10,694 viewers.
A six fight preliminary card aired live on Fox Sports 1, with Erik Koch and Bobby green in the featured spot, drawing a total of 566,000 viewers. The preliminary card also streamed on Fox Sports Go and Fox Now, bringing in another 5,303 viewers.
The pre-fight show that aired on Fox Sports 1 drew 88,000 viewers, while the post-fight show that aired on Fox Sports 2 drew 63,000 viewers.
While there is no Bellator MMA event this coming weekend, a 10 fight UFC Fight Night Belem card (6 main card bouts & 4 preliminary card bouts), with Lyoto Machida and Eryk Anders in the main event, will air live on Fox Sports 1.
