UFC On Fox 22 Draws Biggest TV Audience In 3 Years

UFC On Fox 22 is now the most watched UFC event on free television in over three years, with an average of 3,178,000 viewers watching the main card at any given time.

The main event between Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson drew an average viewership of 4,800,00 and industry experts suggest the number may have surpassed five million if the fight went past the first round. Waterson submitted VanZant in the opening round.

UFC On Fox 22 is now the second most watched UFC On Fox event with no title fights, the only one to beat it was UFC On Fox 2, which had former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans and Phil Davis in the main event.

The UFC On Fox 22 preliminary card, which aired on Fox Sports 1 and featured a fight between Luis Henrique Da Silva against Paul Craig in the featured spot, averaged 679,000 viewers, which is normal for a UFC On Fox preliminary card.

The pre-fight show for UFC On Fox 22 averaged 131,000 viewers and the post-fight show would average 139,000 viewers. The record for highest average viewership for a UFC On Fox card belongs to the event headlined by then UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson defending the gold against former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson, the main card averaged 3,222,000 altogether.

The next UFC On Fox card will be UFC On Fox 23, which takes place on Saturday, January 28 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Juliana Pena and Valentina Shevchenko headlining.
