UFC Brasilia Takes Place In Front Of No Fans; Bonuses, Winners, Highlights, More
UFC Brasilia was an eerie site.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, Saturday’s show took place in front of no fans in an empty arena. With most other sports postponing or outright canceling, UFC was a rare taste of sports in a unique time in history.

#13 Charles Oliveira continued his insane hot streak, submitting former title challenger and #8 Kevin Lee in the third round. It continued Lee’s bad luck after missing weight, and extended Oliveira’s winning streak to seven. Oliveira also won a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his submission, which is his 15th performance bonus in history. It also was his 14th UFC submission, a record he’s been building on since breaking the previous record for 10 in 2018.

Though on the prelims, #5 Brandon Moreno probably had the most significant showing on the card. The perpetual underdog may have punched his card to a future Flyweight title shot be beating perennial “almost there” contender #3 Jussier Formiga via unanimous decision.

#12 Nikita Krylov helped to continue derailing the hype train of #11 Johnny Walker. Once thought to be a potential threat at light heavyweight, Walker was held down and controlled by Krylov for the duration of their bout en route to a unanimous decision win for Krylov.

#5 Demian Maia was TKO’d by #12 Gilbert Burns in a rare happening. After not being finished at all in the 2010s, Maia was put away in the first round via violent strikes.
Maia the long-time contender across two divisions, had not been finished since 2009. Burns would also win a $50,000 bonus for a “Performance of the Night.”

Renato Moicano is still #7 at Featherweight, but was making a significant change by bumping up to lightweight to take on Damir Hadzovic. He debuted in the division in amazing fashion, locking on a rear naked choke and gaining the win in under a minute. After the fight, Moicano told Hadzovic he wanted to fight more, to which his opponent hilariously replied that he shouldn’t have submitted him then.
The remaining $50,000 bonuses for “Fight of the Night” went to Maryna Moroz and Marya Bueno Silva for Moroz’s unanimous decision victory. We can confirm the attendance and live gate were both 0.
