Play-by-Play
Francis Ngannou (16-3) (C) vs. Cyril Gane (10-0) (IC)
Round One – The battle for the baddest man on the planet is officially underway. Gane immediately clinches Ngannou up, the champion lands a knee then powers back to the center of the cage before quickly locking Gane up in the clinch, Gane reverses momentum and circles back to the center. Gane peppers the champion with a jab, Ngannou just misses an uppercut, Gane returns fire, Ngannou misses a hook, Gane lands another jab and then a spinning-back kick to the body lands flush. Ngannou just misses an overhand left and eats a knee to the body from Gane, who initiates the clinch but Ngannou swings to the side, ends up leading the clinch but Gane gets him right back against the fence. Ngannou powers out and just misses a left on the break and the buzzer sounds to end the opening frame.
Round Two – Round number two commences and Gane continues to lead the attack and lands a side kick to the body. Gane lands a jab and Ngannou clinches him against the fence but not for long as Gane slides out and gets back to the middle of the octagon, where he lands a stabbing front-kick to the body. Gane continues to bounce around and be fluid in his stance and lands another kick to the body and the horn sounds to end round number two.
Round Three – The third round is underway and Gane lands another kick to the body to start. Ngannou whiffs on a left hook, then misses another. Gane goes for a high kick, Ngannou avoids and catches Gane’s leg and tosses him to the mat and settles on top, Gane rolls to his stomach, scrambles to his side, gets to his knees and gets back to his feet and ends up leading the clinch with the champion pressed against the cage. Ngannou grabs Gane’s arm and tosses him right back to the mat but Gane immediately scrambles back to his feet and clinches Ngannou back up against the fence. Ngannou powers out partially lands a right hook, Gane misses a spinning-back kick but lands a kick to the champion’s lead leg. Ngannou lands a leg kick of his own, then rips a left to the body and dives for and gets a takedown. Ngannou transitions to partial side control and lands a right hook to the body as the horn sounds and we’re heading to championship rounds.
Round Four – Round number four opens and Gane lands a leg kick to open the action. Gane lands two more kicks to Ngannou’s lead leg, Ngannou misses a counter right hook, Gane partially lands a spinning-back kick and Ngannou just misses an overhand right. Ngannou lands a calf kick, has a kick to the body blocked, Gane goes up high with a kick, Ngannou catches it and gets the challenger pressed against the fence and trips him to the mat with yet another takedown. Gane rolls to his stomach, Ngannou lands a left, then another, Gane lands a backwards elbow, then a second one, Gane gets to his feet but Ngannou forces him right back to the mat. Gane backs up and is able to get back to his feet but Ngannou throws him right back down to the ma and ends up in full mount. Gane gets to a seated position, Ngannou flattens him back down and gets to half guard. Gane pushes himself to the fence, ends up in a seated spot, Ngannou unloads a left, Gane turns to the side and the buzzer sounds to send this one to the final frame.
Round Five – The fifth and final round is here and after a touch of the gloves, we’re underway. Gane lands a left jab then rips a right to the body. Gane lands a lead leg kick then goes for the takedown and gets it. Gane ends up in half guard, Ngannou tries to scramble to his feet, Gane lands a right to stop him, Gane gets to his feet to try and advance position but Ngannou trips him and ends up on top. Gane locks-in a heel hook out of nowhere, Ngannou jumps to one foot, lands a right hook to Gane’s body, Gane continues to work the leg but Ngannou spins out and ends up back in top control. Gane looks gassed, as does Ngannou. Gane gets to a seated position, Ngannou sends him back down, Gane looks for a last-second choke but Ngannou avoids it and rides out the final 10-seconds on top and this one is headed to the judges’ scorecards.

Brandon Moreno (19-5-2) (C) vs. (#1) Deiveson Figueiredo (20-2-1)
Round One – The trilogy opens up with Figueiredo landing a lead leg kick, Moreno returns with a right hook that lands then the champion latches onto the challenger against the fence. Figueiredo reverses momentum but Moreno powers out and gets back to the middle of the octagon where the champion lands a straight left, Figueiredo goes for a takedown and gets it, lands an elbow, Moreno scrambles out and gets back to his feet, Figueiredo lands a left, then rips a right to the body and the buzzer sounds to end the opening frame.
Round Two – Round number two opens with some more feeling out, neither man wants to make a mistake. Figueiredo lands a left then goes for a spinning-back kick but misses, Moreno catches his back and tosses him down to the mat, Figueiredo scrambles and avoids any damage but then eats a left hook from Moreno, who follows it up with a kick to the challenger’s lead leg. Moreno rips a right hook to Figueiredo’s mid-section. The Brazilian fires back with a right hook that lands, then a right to the body as the buzzer sounds to end round number two.
Round Three – Figueiredo immediately gets a takedown, Moreno gets back to his feet, lands a left jab, Figueiredo stuns him with a straight left then trips him with a heavy lead leg kick then rips another hook to the body. Moreno blasts the challenger with a left, Figueiredo counters with a right hook, Figueiredo drills Moreno with a right that sends the champion to the mat, the challenger looks for the choke but the horn sounds and this one is headed to championship rounds.
Round Four – Round number four is underway and Figueiredo lands a kick to Moreno’s lead leg. Moreno whiffs on a left hook but lands a slick spinning-back kick to Figueiredo’s lead leg but Figueiredo lands yet another lead leg kick on Moreno, who returns fire with an overhand right that just misses Figueiredo lands a left then clinches up the champion against the fence. Figueiredo lands a few knees to the back of Moreno’s legs but the champion spins out and lands a left hook and both start throwing with reckless abandonment until the buzzer hits and this one is headed to the fifth and final round.
Round Five – Round number five to determine the best 125-pounder on the planet is underway. Another lead leg kick from Figueiredo lands, the champion dives in and gets a takedown, both scramble, Figueiredo’s able to get back to his feet, Moreno lands a left, Figueiredo returns fire with a right, Moreno connects with a jab and the challenger rips one to the body. Another leg kick lands from Figueiredo, who then drills the champion with a right hook, Moreno sends a left back in his direction, Figueiredo blasts Moreno with a left and Moreno lands a right hook at the buzzer and this one is headed to the judges’ scorecards.

Michel Pereira (26-11) vs. Andre Fialho (14-3)
Round One – Pereira hits a front-kick to the body to start. Pereira leaps off the cage and partially lands a straight left and then lands another kick to the body. Fialho lands a left, Pereira returns fire with a right, Fialho lands a jab that catches Pereira’s attention. Pereira with another kick to the body, Fialho drills him with an uppercut, Pereira lands yet another kick to the body and goes for a flying knee but misses. Fialho continues to find a home for the jab, Pereira goes for a takedown, Fialho stuffs it and a cut has opened up on Pereira’s nose from the jabs. Fialho just misses a left hook, Pereira slips after missing a kick, Fialho jumps down on top and lands an elbow and a hammer fist, Pereira misses an up-kick and Fialho lands another hammer-fist at the buzzer to signify the end of the opening frame.
Round Two – Round number two opens up and Pereira explodes forward and drills Fialho with a right hook, then a left, Fialho wobbles but latches onto Pereira inside of the clinch to recover, they break and Pereira just misses a wild flying front-kick. Pereira continues his surge forward, drills Fialho with another front-kick to the body, then a right hook that hurts Fialho bad, Pereira latches onto Fialho and Pereira may have gassed himself out going for the finish. Both men circle back to the middle of the octagon, Pereira throws another wild kick that doesn’t come close to landing but another front-kick to the body lands direct. Pereira continues the onslaught with a knee to the body and an uppercut that both land. Pereira hits yet ANOTHER front-kick to the body, Fialho looks exhausted, Pereira blasts him with a straight right and then dives in for the takedown and gets it and he rides out the last few seconds of the round as this one is headed to round number three.
Round Three – The third and final round opens and both men embrace after a wild second round. Pereira leaps off the cage and just misses a left hand. Fialho wallops Pereira with a right hook but eats another front-kick to the body. Pereira partially lands a left hook, then plants a kick on Fialho’s lead leg. Fialho latches onto Pereira and clinches the Brazilian against the fence, Pereira eventually powers out, lands a leg kick and then another as the final 90-seconds approach. A left from Pereira wobbles Fialho, a follow-up left hook from Pereira does the same, a straight right from him just misses, Fialho whiffs on a counter left and Pereira lands another front-kick but this time, it’s too low and referee Mark Beltran steps-in to give the Portuguese-born Fialho a chance to recover. Fialho gives the OK, the fight continues, Pereira gets on his bike for the final 30-seconds then jumps off the fence, just misses a right, Fialho drills him with a left but the buzzer sounds and this one is headed to the judges’ scorecards.

(#15) Cody Stamann (19-4-1) vs. Said Nurmagomedov (14-2)
Round One – Nurmagomedov drills Stamann with a spinning-back kick to open which forces Stamann to dive in for a takedown but Nurmagomedov stuffs it, sends Stamann to the canvas with a partial judo throw, immediately grabs his neck and Stamann has no choice but to tap! What a performance by Nurmagomedov!
