UFC 261 Sold Out In Minutes But Comes With A Grim Warning About COVID-19
UFC 261 has sold out its full capacity in a matter of minutes, but fans attending have been issued a stark warning in the fine print of the tickets.
Dana White had predicted that the tickets wouldn’t be available for long and he has been proven correct. UFC 261 will take place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, with a full capacity of 15,000 expected in attendance. This will mark the first full capacity sporting event in the United States with no social distancing needed at the event.

Fans attending the PPV have been warned on the fine print of the risks they are taking in attending the event. The fine print on the tickets warns of possible exposure to and contraction of COVID-19, which “may result in severe and permanent damage to the health of the Holder and/or others, including but not limited to, death, fever, weight loss, irreversible pulmonary, respiratory and/or neurological system damage, loss of taste or smell, mental or emotional distress, temporary or permanent disability, loss of income, loss of employment, loss of financial or other opportunities, medical expenses,” among the stark warnings the UFC are advising of.

The event marks the first time the UFC has held a full capacity crowd since UFC Fight Night 170 in Brazil on March 14. The UFC held its first no-crowd event in Jacksonville, Florida in May at UFC 249. Just under 12 months later and the UFC now returns to where the pandemic-era started and where it now looks like it has finished. The news has come with a mixed reception, with some fans happy to see a return to normality and some weary of the obvious concerns with spreading COVID-19 before it is safe to host 15,000 people jam-packed in a stadium. UFC 261 takes place on April 24 and will be headlined by Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal II for the welterweight title.
