UFC 257 Card Changes: Two Fights Nixed After Weigh In
UFC 257 has had some drama during this morning’s weigh-ins for the event.
A pair of bouts, including a main card fight has been removed from the event’s card following the weigh-ins.
Ottman Azaitar was scheduled to face Matt Frevola on the main card, Saturday night but due to undisclosed reasons, that fight has been removed from the card, according to MMA Junkie.
Frevola, however did successfully make the lightweight limit during the weigh-ins, tipping the scales at 155.5-pounds, this morning.
Arman Tsarukyan was slated to stand across from the octagon against Nasrat Haqparast, Saturday night, but now that fight won’t be taking place either. Tsarukyan weighed-in at 159-pounds, 3-pounds over the UFC’s lightweight limit, while his opponent Nasrat Haqparast didn’t even attempt to weigh-in, for reasons so far unknown.
Due to the changes, Andrew Sanchez (186-pounds) vs. Makhmud Muradov (186-pounds) has been elevated to the main card. All 20 other fighters successfully made weight and the card is currently scheduled to proceed with 10-bouts.
MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn is reporting that there is potential fo Tsarukyan to face Frevola as both men have weighed-in and are both in the lightweight division, albeit Tsarukyan did miss the lightweight mark by 3-pounds.
