UFC 255 Prelims Video Highlights: Joaquin Buckley Does It Again

Joaquin Buckley prevails with another knockout at UFC 255.

Buckley built on the success of his KO of the Year contender against Impa Kasanganay. Elsewhere on the card, Brandon Moreno held onto his no. 1 flyweight ranking against an ultra-tough Brandon Royval and Antonina Shevchenko got the sisters off to a winning start. Take a look below at the UFC 255 prelims highlights.

Brandon Moreno (no. 1) def. Brandon Royval (no. 6) by TKO via strikes (4:59, R1)

Moreno showed exquisite grappling in a great first-round against Royval. Unfortunately, Royval’s shoulder popped out in the closing seconds of the round and the fight was stopped with one second left.

Joaquin Buckley def. Jordan Wright by KO via strikes (0:18, R2)

Buckley built on his world-shaking knockout of Impa Kasanganay with an impressive second-round knockout of Wright. “New Mansa” hurt his opponent at the end of round one and quickly finished the job at the start of round two.

Antonina Shevchenko (no. 15) def. Ariane Lipski by TKO via strikes (4:33, R2)

Shevchenko is an elite striker; however, she showcased a combination of takedowns, control and ground-and-pound en route to a second-round TKO win on Saturday night.

Nicolas Dalby def. Daniel Rodriguez by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Dalby and Rodriguez fought more competitively than what the scorecards suggest. Dalby landed thudding kicks but D-Rod arguably landed the harder punches. It was a more patient approach from Rodriguez that ultimately did not pay off.

Alan Jouban def. Jared Gooden by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Jouban swept the scorecards against Gooden at UFC Vegas 15. Jouban put distance between him and his opponent after a close first round, visibly rocking Gooden in the second and nearly submitting him in the third.

Kyle Daukaus def. Dustin Stoltzfus by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Daukaus continued to elevate the Daukaus brand with a controlling three-round gameplan that earned him a 10-8 on one judge’s scorecard.

Sasha Palatnikov def. Louis Cosce by TKO via strikes (2:27, R3)

Palatnikov cashed in big with a third-round TKO of Cosce. The fight featured everything from back-and-forth action to multiple fence grabs and low blows. Skillful and sloppy and thoroughly entertaining.
