UFC 238: Cejudo vs. Moraes Gate, Attendance, And Bonus Information
UFC returned to Chicago for UFC 238, an event headlined by two title fights and the People’s Main Event between Tony Ferguson and Donald Cerrone.
16,083 fans packed the United Center for UFC 238 for a live gate of $2,034,387.
The last time UFC invaded the United Center was June 8, 2018 for UFC 225. That card was headlined by Robert Whittaker vs. Yoel Romero, Rafael dos Anjos vs. Colby Covington, and the return of CM Punk. UFC 225 drew 18,117 for a gate of $2.55 million, both records for UFC at the venue.
As far as bonuses go, the top fighters took home the big money. Ferguson and Cerrone won Fight of the Night honors for their 10-minute war that ended when Cerrone could not continue due to his eye swelling shut. Meanwhile, Henry Cejudo and Valentina Shevchenko won Performance of the Night honors. Cejudo stopped Marlon Moraes in the third round of their Bantamweight Title fight with vicious ground and pound. Not to be outdone, Shevchenko iced Jessiva Eye in the second round with a head kick to retain the Women’s Flyweight Title.
