UFC 232: Jones vs. Gustafsson 2 Gate, Attendance, And Bonus Information
UFC capped off the year in a big way with a double main event featuring the return of Jon Jones and the biggest fight in women’s history.
UFC 232 drew 15,862 fans at The Forum in Inglewood, California for a gate of $2.06 million.
The UFC’s only other trip to the Forum came in June 2016 with UFC 199. That event, headlined by Luke Rockhold against Michael Bisping, drew 15,587 fans for a gate of $2.16 million.
UFC 232 was originally scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was moved to California on Dec. 23 after the Nevada State Athletic Commission would not license Jones due to an abnormal drug test.
As far as bonuses go; Ryan Hall, Amanda Nunes, Alexander Volkanovski and Chad Mendes are all walking home with an extra $50,000.
Hall and Nunes received Performance of the Night bonuses for their respective outings in the Octagon. Hall submitted BJ Penn in the first round with a heel hook. This is his first Performance of the Night bonus.
Meanwhile, Nunes shocked many when she knocked out Cris Cyborg in just 51 seconds to capture the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title. This marks her fourth Performance of the Night bonus.
Volkanovski and Mendes picked up bonus money for putting on the Fight of the Night. Volkanovski survived Mendes’ best shots in the first round and came back to stop Mendes in the final minutes of the second round. This is Volkanovski’s first Fight of the Night bonus and Mendes’ second.
