UFC 227 Estimated PPV Numbers Are In
Earlier this month, a pair of title fights headlined the UFC 227 pay-per-view as TJ Dillashaw successfully defended the UFC Bantamweight Title against Cody Garbrandt and Henry Cejudo defeated Demetrious Johnson to win the UFC Flyweight Title.
The estimated pay-per-view buyrate has been released by MMA Fighting and the show has drawn an estimated 300,000 buys.
These numbers are good news for the promotion because they are much higher than industry insiders expected, plus the event drew the largest crowd for a UFC event in the Staples Center.
Other fights on the pay-per-view card saw Renato Moicano defeat Cub Swanson, JJ Aldrich defeat Polyana Viana and Thiago Santos defeat Kevin Holland.
MMA Fighting is also reporting that Google searches for the event were high as well, with over 1,000,000 searches for UFC 227 taking place in and around fight night. Also, UFC 227 was the single most searched item on the internet for day of the show, which is also a strong indicator of how well the PPV did.
Up next for the UFC and pay-per-view is going to be UFC 228 on Saturday, September 8 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Tyron Woodley and Darren Till headlining.
