UFC 223 Weigh-In Results, Craziness On The Scales
The UFC 223 weigh-ins are complete and the madness was everywhere before, during and after the fighters hit the scale. Al Iaquinta was moved into the main event after the New York State Athletic Commission ruled that UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway was unfit to compete against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Nurmagomedov is still eligible to win the UFC Lightweight Title, but Iaquinta is unable to because he came in 0.2 pounds over the title fight weight limit (155 pounds). Due to Iaquinta being transitioned to the main event, a lightweight division encounter between the New York native and Paul Felder (who did make weight for the event) was canned altogether.
Also, due to the actions of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor on Thursday, a trio of fights in Anthony Pettis versus Michael Chiesa, Ray Borg versus Brandon Moreno and Artem Lobov versus Alex Caceres were all canceled.
Those eighteen fighters who remained on the card all made weight for the affair, which airs on both Fox Sports 1 and then pay-per-view.
