UFC 215 Prelims Do Awful Ratings

UFC 215 took place this past Saturday Night, with Amanda Nunes successfully defending the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title over Valentina Shevchenko in the main event.

Four fights aired on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 before the pay-per-view, which drew awful ratings for the UFC and sports networks.

Rick Glenn defeating Gavin Tucker and Alex White defeating the retiring Mitch Clarke aired on FS2, drawing a rating of 153,000 viewers. The Walker Cup golf tournament was the reason behind the prelims airing on FS2 over FS1, but the final two fights of the preliminary card would air in full on FS1.

In those two preliminary card fights airing on FS1, it was Ketlen Vieira defeating Sara McMann and Sarah Moras defeating Ashlee Evans-Smith. Those two fights drew a total of 418,000 viewers, which is still well below the average viewership for preliminary card fights on the network.

There was a lot of competition that night airing opposite the UFC fights, including some big NCAA Football games, Hurricane Irma coverage and a Nascar race.

The post-fight show was split between FS1 and FS2, drawing 28,000 viewers on FS2 and 172,000 viewers on FS1.

Friday Night saw the UFC 215 weigh-ins, which drew 76,000 viewers for the live airing on FS1, while the replays drew 26,000 viewers on FS1 and then 34,000 viewers on FS2.
